Astronomical and computational reading

Read a result first as a coordinate calculation: when, from where, in what frame and using which ephemeris? This lens explains why different programs can disagree without either containing an arithmetic error. It also identifies the boundary where observed or modeled sky positions end and symbolic interpretation begins.

A reading workflow

  1. Verify civil time, time zone, location and time scale.
  2. Record geocentric or topocentric viewpoint, zodiac and coordinate epoch.
  3. Inspect returned ephemeris flags and any missing-data messages.
  4. Compare like-for-like positions with an independent implementation and separate numerical accuracy from interpretive validity.

Where this approach stops

Machine precision is not birth-data precision. Agreement on positions validates a calculation under its assumptions, not a personality, spiritual or predictive theory.
