Offline use

You can install Astral Atlas as a website, but it currently needs an internet connection to open its tool pages. Installation does not turn the site into a universal offline app.

When you need a connection

• Opening tool pages and loading their current data needs the internet.
• Signing in, and opening your saved People library or saved calculations, needs the internet.
• Private pages are not saved for offline use by a site-wide service-worker cache.

Files you can take with you

Some completed reports have a Download HTML report control. For example, it is available after preparing reports in Four Pillars (BaZi), Chinese calendar, and Nine Star Ki. The downloaded standalone HTML files include the material shown in those reports, so you can open them without a connection.

From a saved calculation’s map details, Download interactive offline globe saves the displayed geometry and source UTC in a separate HTML file. It can be opened without a connection; it does not recalculate the map and has no coastlines.

Current boundary

There is no general offline application or universal cache of the site today. A fuller offline phone app remains planned. Keep downloaded reports and globe files private when they contain personal chart information.
