A hanging result describes a particular channel pair with one activated gate. The missing partner is a statement about this chart calculation, not something a person needs to acquire. Other complete channels may still define either endpoint center.

One gate can belong to several pairs

In an original graph example, activate gates 10 and 34. Their prescribed pair completes 10–34, defining G and Sacral. Gate 20 is still inactive, so the separate pair 10–20 has only one active endpoint even though G is already defined. This is why the catalogue records each pair independently and the inspector lists the center status separately.
