Dreamspell is a modern creation associated with José and Lloydine Argüelles, developed around 1990–1991. In his own retrospective account, José dates the kit’s design to 1990 and production preparations to 1991. These are creator-reported milestones, not evidence that the system preserves an unchanged ancient Maya calendar.
Mythology & symbolic world
Its spiritual narrative describes planetary kin, twenty solar seals, thirteen tones, and a journey of collective awakening. Dreamspell Genesis explicitly presents a mythic account of cosmic migration and recovered memory. The thirteen equal 28-day months function as an ideal calendar pattern; they are not measurements of thirteen astronomical lunar months.
