The angular contract
In this Atlas, a nakshatra is one of 27 equal sectors of a selected sidereal circle. Divide 360° by 27: every sector is 13°20′. Ashwini begins at 0° of the chosen sidereal longitude; the atlas counts forward. This is an angular indexing rule, not an astronomical constellation outline.
A selection in the mansion atlas is a learning view. It identifies the sector and its stored context; it does not claim that the selected mansion is anyone’s birth mansion. The quarter inspector keeps the same separation: browsing a sector differs from calculating a natal Moon from dated, timed, located birth data.

Worked boundary example
Take an invented sidereal longitude of 13°19′59″. It remains in Ashwini, because Ashwini covers 0° through just before 13°20′. At exactly 13°20′, the next equal sector begins: Bharani. The calculation uses the declared sidereal longitude, so rounding an input before this test can hide a real boundary change.
For a position near any edge, record the input instant, location, ephemeris result, selected sidereal reference, and displayed precision. Recalculate with the same settings before comparing a source. A named ayanamsha is part of the coordinate convention: this tool offers Lahiri, Raman, Krishnamurti, Fagan-Bradley, De Luce, and Yukteshwar rather than silently treating one reference as universal.

Do not merge three different rulers
A D1 sign ruler belongs to the 30° sidereal sign occupied by the longitude. A Vimshottari lord is the period-lord assigned to the mansion in that timing sequence. A pada also maps the same longitude to a D9 sign in the atlas’s quarter table. These are three different outputs from related grids, so none replaces another.
For example, a Moon can be displayed in a mansion whose timing lord is Mars while its D1 sign ruler and D9 mapped-sign ruler are different planets. The useful next step is to inspect each label with its rule and chart level attached. The atlas does not turn that inventory into a prediction or a personality verdict.

An inherited word for a star or asterism, specialized as a lunar mansion. Its deeper derivation is not reduced here to a speculative syllable story.

The common equal scheme makes mansion assignment a checkable angular calculation. Historical names and associated meanings are inherited conventions; a named mansion is not necessarily the same region as a modern astronomical constellation.
