This is a regional discovery entry, not one astrological system. Burmese Mahabote, Thai horoscope and divination traditions, and Balinese pawukon need separate source histories. Institutional manuscript records demonstrate locally transmitted tables and images; they do not justify deriving the whole region from one generic Indian or Chinese chart.
Mythology & symbolic world
The British Library’s Thai phrommachat fragment combines animal-cycle pictures, elemental attributes, plants and number diagrams. Pawukon heritage work likewise treats calendrical knowledge as local culture. These images need their own context instead of interchangeable symbolic meanings.

The current evidence includes a specific Thai manuscript catalogue and a local pawukon museum account. Full Burmese Mahabote rules and a validated Balinese conversion corpus remain evidence gaps in this entry.

A Burmese weekday classification cannot automatically serve as a Mahabote chart, and neither can replace a Balinese pawukon date.
