Zi Wei Dou Shu belongs to the Chinese family of calendrical fate-calculation. Tu Vi is its Vietnamese reception. The available evidence here is strongest for documented contemporary chart construction, not for a securely established origin date or an unbroken single founding lineage.
Mythology & symbolic world
The chart names stars, palaces and transformations. In this setting, placing a named star in a palace is a calendrical assignment; it should not be mistaken for observing that physical star at a particular ecliptic longitude.

Iztro’s original documentation exposes lunar-date conversion and double-hour inputs. Its associated implementation documentation makes school differences explicit, including year boundaries, late-Zi attribution and alternative transformation tables.

Record the source calendar, hour index, required sex/gender parameter and school, then inspect the resulting palaces and their assigned stars before adding time cycles.
Changing whether a late Zi hour belongs to today or tomorrow can alter date-dependent placements; it is a configuration difference rather than an ephemeris error.
