Kuta represents Sanskrit kūṭa (कूट), used as a technical name for a factor in traditional horoscope matching.
Monier-Williams records senses including a peak, heap or multitude. Those literal senses do not establish why the matching term arose; here its technical use is documented separately in the Jyotish manual.
