Go deeper: what these words mean
Retrograde. Seen from Earth, a planet sometimes appears to stop and move backwards through the zodiac for a while. Nothing reverses in space: Earth is overtaking the planet, or being overtaken by it. The days it stops are its stations.
Void of course. The time between the Moon’s last exact major aspect in a sign (conjunction, sextile, square, trine or opposition) and its entry into the next sign. Traditional astrologers count only aspects to the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, so their void periods can start earlier; the Moon calendar can show both.
Sidereal zodiac. Vedic and other sidereal charts put every planet about 24° earlier, so most are one sign back. Retrograde dates and Moon phases are the same in every zodiac.
